About this policy
Retro LLC operates Harmonic Tuner, an app for tuning instruments and exploring their sound. This policy covers the app and related support. It is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older. Contact support@retro.llc for privacy questions. Available features depend on the version you use.
Microphone and audio files
With your permission, Harmonic Tuner uses microphone audio to measure pitch, frequency and harmonics on your device. Where recording and import features are available, you can save a recording or choose an audio file for local analysis. The app does not upload microphone audio, imported files or saved captures to Retro for analysis.
Audio can include voices or other sounds nearby. Record only material you are authorized to record, and avoid recording other people without any permission required by law. You can change microphone access in iOS Settings. Choosing a file through Apple’s file picker gives the app access to the selected file; the storage provider you choose has its own privacy practices.
Saved settings and captures
The app stores settings, named harmonic captures and, where available, associated recordings and analysis on your device. You can remove saved captures using the app’s controls. Deleting the app removes its local app container; device or cloud backups and copies you keep elsewhere are governed by those services and may remain. Keep a copy of anything important before deleting the app or troubleshooting its storage.
The current app does not require a Retro account and does not include an advertising SDK, cross-app tracking or a Retro-operated cloud sync service. Audio processing libraries run locally. We do not sell your app data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Support and diagnostics
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you send, including any screenshots or attachments. We use it to answer your request, troubleshoot problems and maintain necessary support records. Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information.
Apple may provide developers with app distribution, usage and crash information under Apple’s rules and your diagnostic-sharing choices. Local diagnostic information may also be available in the app. We receive information you choose to send to support; please remove personal or unrelated audio before attaching a recording. We use support and diagnostic information to respond and improve reliability.
Apple, website and other providers
Apple operates the App Store, system permissions, device backups and any cloud-file service you choose. See Apple’s privacy information. Visiting a support or policy link makes a website request; our website privacy notice explains hosting logs and contact forms. Our email providers process support correspondence. We may disclose information when legally required, reasonably necessary to protect people or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable law.
Retention and security
Local settings and saved captures remain until removed through the app or system, subject to device storage and backup behavior. We cannot retrieve or delete local captures remotely.
We retain information for the purposes described here, considering whether you still use the relevant service, unresolved support requests, security needs and applicable legal obligations. Service-provider logs and recovery backups follow separate retention cycles. Removing information from an active system does not necessarily remove every backup copy immediately. Contact us to ask about retention or deletion for your situation.
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Privacy protections may differ between countries. You can contact us for information about the providers and safeguards applicable to your information. No internet service or device is completely secure; we use safeguards appropriate to the information and service.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of, delete or restrict the use of your personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent for future processing; or appeal our response. You may also complain to your local privacy regulator. Contact support@retro.llc to make a request. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity or authority to act for another person. We will not penalize you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Where a legal basis is required, we process information to provide the service you request, pursue legitimate interests such as security and support, comply with legal obligations, or act on your consent where required. Withdrawing a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
For data held only on your device, use the app or iOS controls. For information you sent to support, contact us with enough detail to locate your request. Do not send private recordings solely to demonstrate that they exist.
Children and changes
Harmonic Tuner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Where local law requires parental permission for an older minor, that permission is required. Please do not send unnecessary personal information about children in support requests. Contact support@retro.llc if you believe a child has provided information that should be removed.
We update this policy as practices change and provide additional notice or choices where required. See our Terms of Use.
